Responsibilities under Desired Job

 

Project Planning and Execution:

Oversee the planning, implementation, and completion of power distribution or transmission projects in accordance with PEPCO’s operational goals.

Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.

Manage the technical design and construction of substations, transmission lines, and distribution systems.

Operations and Maintenance:

Supervise the operation and maintenance of PEPCO’s electrical infrastructure, including substations, transmission lines, and distribution systems.

Ensure the reliability and stability of the power grid, addressing any faults or outages that occur.

Implement preventive and corrective maintenance schedules to optimize the efficiency of the power network.

Team Supervision and Leadership:

Lead a team of engineers, technicians, and field workers, providing guidance and support to ensure the smooth execution of projects.

Assign tasks, monitor progress, and conduct performance evaluations for the engineering team.

Promote a culture of safety and compliance with PEPCO’s operational standards and industry best practices.

Regulatory Compliance and Safety:

Ensure that all engineering and operational activities comply with NEPRA regulations, PEPCO policies, and national safety standards.

Conduct regular safety inspections of project sites and enforce the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety protocols.

Ensure that all projects and operations are environmentally sustainable and minimize the impact on surrounding communities.

Power System Analysis and Grid Management:

Perform load flow studies, fault analysis, and protection coordination for the power network.

Analyze grid performance and make recommendations for improvements in grid stability and reliability.

Ensure optimal power flow and load management across the transmission and distribution network.

Financial Management and Budgeting:

Prepare project budgets, monitor expenditures, and ensure cost-effective use of resources.

Ensure that procurement activities for materials, equipment, and services adhere to PEPCO’s financial policies and guidelines.

Control project costs and manage contracts with vendors and contractors to avoid budget overruns.

Stakeholder Communication and Coordination:

Coordinate with internal departments (e.g., planning, finance, procurement) to ensure project alignment with PEPCO’s goals.

Liaise with external stakeholders, including contractors, government authorities, and local communities, to ensure smooth project execution.

Prepare and present technical reports, progress updates, and recommendations to senior management and government officials.

Risk Management:
