Pakistan Electric Power Company (PEPCO) was established in 1998 for implementation of the Strategic Plan for Privatization of Power Wing of WAPDA, approved by the Council of Common Interest (CCI) in 1993. Responsibilities under Desired Job
Operations and Maintenance:
Oversee the operation and maintenance of the electrical distribution network within the assigned subdivision.
Manage the installation, repair, and maintenance of power lines, transformers, substations, and other electrical equipment.
Ensure the timely resolution of power outages, faults, and breakdowns, minimizing disruptions to consumers.
Supervise the periodic maintenance and upgrades of the distribution network to ensure reliability and efficiency.
Team Supervision:
Manage a team of linemen, technical staff, and field workers responsible for maintaining the electrical infrastructure.
Assign tasks, monitor team performance, and ensure that work is completed safely and according to standards.
Provide training and guidance to technical staff to enhance their skills and ensure compliance with PEPCO's safety standards.
Customer Service and Issue Resolution:
Address customer complaints related to power supply, voltage issues, and billing discrepancies.
Ensure timely restoration of power in case of outages and coordinate with customers to communicate expected resolution times.
Provide feedback to management regarding recurring customer issues and propose solutions for long-term improvements.
Regulatory Compliance and Safety:
Ensure that all operational activities comply with NEPRA regulations, PEPCO's internal policies, and industry safety standards.
Conduct safety inspections and enforce the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and other safety measures during fieldwork.
Ensure that all equipment and infrastructure comply with national environmental and safety standards to prevent accidents and hazards.
Load Management:
Monitor and manage power loads within the subdivision, ensuring that the electrical network operates within capacity limits.
Coordinate load-shedding schedules and communicate them to consumers when necessary to prevent system overloading.
Work on power factor improvement and reduction of line losses within the network.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of power outages, repairs, and maintenance activities within the subdivision.
Prepare technical reports on network performance, power supply issues, and system improvements for submission to higher management.
Keep detailed documentation of field operations, inventory of equipment, and usage of spare parts.
Project Management:
Supervise small to medium-scale projects related to the upgrading of distribution lines, installation of transformers, and expansion of the network.
Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet PEPCO’s quality standards.
Coordinate with contractors and suppliers for the timely delivery of materials and services required for project execution.
Stakeholder Coordination:
Coordinate with higher management, contractors, and suppliers for smooth operational execution and resolution of any technical challenges.
Engage with local authorities and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with local rules and regulations.
Collaborate with other departments within PEPCO for resources and technical support.
Risk and Fault Management:
Identify potential risks in the electrical distribution network and take preventive actions to avoid faults or breakdowns.
Develop strategies for quick fault detection and rectification to minimize downtime and improve network reliability.
Implement risk management protocols and emergency response plans in case of major system failures or accidents.
