Responsibilities under Desired Job
Support to Line Superintendent:
Assist the Line Superintendent in overseeing and managing the operations of electrical lines, including installation, maintenance, and repair activities.
Provide support in planning and coordinating field operations, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
Supervision of Field Teams:
Supervise and direct line crews and technical staff involved in electrical line work.
Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure that work is carried out according to PEPCO’s standards and safety protocols.
Provide on-the-job training and support to team members as needed.
Maintenance and Repair:
Assist in the routine maintenance and repair of power lines, transformers, and other electrical equipment.
Conduct inspections and identify issues with electrical lines, ensuring timely resolution of faults and minimizing downtime.
Safety Compliance:
Enforce adherence to safety standards and procedures during all field operations.
Ensure that all team members use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety protocols.
Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
Field Operations:
Participate in the installation, testing, and commissioning of new electrical lines and infrastructure.
Assist in responding to emergencies, such as power outages or faults, and implement corrective actions as needed.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of field activities, including installation, maintenance, and repair work.
Prepare and submit reports on operational status, work completed, and any issues encountered to the Line Superintendent.
Ensure proper documentation of all work performed and materials used.
Customer Service:
Address customer complaints and concerns related to power supply issues, outages, and service quality.
Assist in providing technical support to customers when required and ensure timely resolution of their issues.
Coordination with Other Departments:
Coordinate with other departments, such as planning and engineering, to ensure alignment of field operations with overall project goals and schedules.
Work with supply chain and procurement teams to ensure the availability of materials and equipment needed for fieldwork.
Project Execution:
Assist in the execution of small to medium-scale projects related to electrical line installation and maintenance.
Ensure projects are completed on time and in accordance with required quality standards.
Emergency Response:
Respond to and manage emergency situations, such as outages or faults, ensuring quick restoration of power and minimal disruption.
Coordinate emergency repair efforts and manage resources effectively to address urgent issues.
