Responsibilities under Desired Job
Inventory Management:
Supervise and maintain an accurate inventory of materials, equipment, and supplies in the store.
Monitor stock levels and ensure that materials are always available for operations, avoiding shortages.
Conduct regular stock checks and audits to verify inventory levels and ensure the accuracy of records.
Store Operations:
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the store, including receiving, storing, and issuing materials.
Ensure proper arrangement and labeling of stock items in the warehouse for easy identification and access.
Implement procedures for stock handling, storage, and issuance of goods.
Stock Receiving and Inspection:
Ensure all incoming materials and supplies are properly inspected, checked for quality, and counted against purchase orders.
Work closely with the procurement department to ensure that ordered materials meet PEPCO’s specifications.
Record receipt of goods and update inventory records accordingly.
Stock Issuance and Record Keeping:
Manage the issuance of stock to various departments and projects as per requests and approved processes.
Maintain accurate records of issued items and update the inventory management system in real time.
Ensure proper documentation of all transactions and maintain well-organized store records.
Stock Audits and Reporting:
Conduct periodic stock audits to reconcile physical stock with inventory records.
Prepare and submit stock reports to management, including details of stock levels, discrepancies, and reorder requirements.
Identify any stock discrepancies and investigate the causes, taking corrective measures when necessary.
Stock Replenishment:
Monitor stock levels and initiate purchase requests for the replenishment of materials and supplies when they reach the reorder point.
Coordinate with the procurement department to ensure timely delivery of ordered items.
Safety and Compliance:
Ensure that all materials are stored in compliance with safety protocols and company policies.
Monitor the safety conditions of the store and ensure that staff follow safety procedures when handling materials, especially hazardous materials.
Maintain proper security measures to safeguard stock against theft or damage.
Staff Management:
Supervise and manage store staff, including assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and providing training on store management practices.
Ensure that staff adhere to store policies and maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the store.
Coordination with Departments:
Collaborate with other departments such as procurement, logistics, and project management to ensure timely and efficient supply of materials.
Act as the point of contact for internal stakeholders regarding store-related issues and inquiries.
Budget Management:
Manage the store budget by controlling stock levels and avoiding unnecessary overstocking or wastage.
Optimize inventory levels to minimize costs while ensuring availability of necessary materials.
