Pakistan Electric Power Company (PEPCO) was established in 1998 for implementation of the Strategic Plan for Privatization of Power Wing of WAPDA, approved by the Council of Common Interest (CCI) in 1993. It was decided that WAPDA’s Power utility functions be separated and the Power Wing be unbundled and corporatized into DISCOs, GENCOs, and the NTDC.

Responsibilities under Desired Job
Meter Reading:
Visit assigned customer locations, which may include homes, businesses, and industrial sites, to read electricity meters.
Accurately record electricity consumption from the meters and note any discrepancies or issues.
Data Entry:
Enter meter readings into handheld devices, smart phones, or paper logs as required.
Ensure that readings are uploaded into PEPCO’s billing system for accurate and timely customer billing.
Identifying Meter Issues:
Report any faulty meters, tampering, or signs of damage to supervisors or the relevant department for maintenance or repair.
Note any irregular readings or issues that may indicate meter malfunctions or fraudulent activities.
Customer Interaction:
Interact with customers professionally when needed, especially if they have questions about the meter reading process.
Provide basic explanations of the meter reading process, if required, and report any customer concerns back to the office.
Travel:
Travel to various locations within the assigned area to read meters.
Maintain a consistent schedule and complete the assigned meter readings within the given timeframe.
Reporting:
Prepare and submit daily reports of the meter readings taken, highlighting any issues encountered during the day.
Ensure all data is accurate and complete before submission.
Ensuring Accuracy:
Double-check meter readings to ensure that no errors are made, as incorrect readings can lead to billing discrepancies.
Maintain a record of readings to cross-check and verify customer usage history when necessary.
Safety Protocols:
Follow all safety guidelines when accessing meters, especially in areas that may be hazardous.
Ensure proper handling of equipment and be aware of potential electrical hazards.
Route Planning:
Plan efficient routes to visit all assigned locations in the most time-effective manner, minimizing travel time and maximizing efficiency.

General Terms and Conditions
These contract positions offer competitive remuneration. Male, Female, and Transgender applicants from the listed provinces can apply. Candidates can apply for multiple positions by paying separate fees. Appointments will be made through oRea-Pakistan's Screening Test under the Recruitment Policy 2022. Age is calculated as of the application deadline, with a 5-year upper age limit relaxation per Service Rules. Government employees should apply through proper channels.
