Skills:

  • Proficiency in performing comprehensive eye examinations, diagnosing visual problems, and prescribing corrective lenses or treatments.
  • Expertise in conducting vision screenings and identifying issues that may affect learning or daily functioning in special needs students.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with parents, teachers, and other healthcare professionals, explaining medical conditions and treatment plans.
  • Ability to use specialized ophthalmic equipment and diagnostic tools for eye care.

 

Knowledge:

  • In-depth knowledge of eye diseases and conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, amblyopic, strabismus, and other disorders that affect vision.
  • Familiarity with low vision devices and assistive technologies that can help individuals with severe vision impairments.
  • Understanding of how visual impairments affect learning, development, and everyday life, especially for children with special educational needs.
  • Knowledge of vision therapy and rehabilitation techniques aimed at improving or restoring vision.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conducting thorough eye exams and diagnosing vision problems or eye diseases in children or individuals with special needs.
  • Prescribing eyeglasses, contact lenses, or other treatments to correct refractive errors or visual impairments.
  • Working with educators and therapists to provide comprehensive care for students with visual challenges.
  • Recommending and fitting low vision aids or devices to help individuals with severe visual impairments.
  • Monitoring patients' progress and adjusting treatment plans or prescriptions as necessary.
  • Referring patients for surgical intervention or further treatment if necessary.

 

General Terms and Conditions

 

These contract positions offer competitive remuneration. Male, Female, and Transgender applicants from the listed provinces can apply. Candidates can apply for multiple positions by paying separate fees. Appointments will be made through oRea-Pakistan's Screening Test under the Recruitment Policy 2022. Age is calculated as of the application deadline, with a 5-year upper age limit relaxation per Service Rules. Government employees should apply through proper channels. No TA/DA for tests or interviews.

Incomplete or late applications won't be considered. Test dates will be notified to shortlisted candidates via oRea-Pakistan. A minimum of 50% marks in the test is required to qualify. The appointing authority may set a higher threshold if needed.
